What do you have your eye on? That is what God asked me this morning as I was reading His word. I was reading Matthew 6: 21- 24 which says:
Matt 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Mat 6:22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light,
Mat 6:23 but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
Mat 6:24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
You see Yahweh was sharing with me that it is where I set my eyes that determines the depth of my spirituality. Do I have my eyes set on the things of this world or do I have them COMPLETELY set on Him. In my life do I set my eyes on doing His word, doing what is right, or do I set my eyes on having my own way and doing things the way I feel or think is best. If I set my eyes on Him, His word, and His way, my whole life will be filled with true light! If I choose otherwise then, my life will be filled with darkness. It is simply my choice. I must choose. Well, my prayers is that daily I will live by what the Apostle Paul declared in Ephesians 5:14:
Awake you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.
May we wake up from the slumber of this life and arise to new life, as Christ then pours the beauty of his Holiness and Presence in to our heats and lives is my prayer!
