2020 Can You Believe it?

In just about two (2) weeks we will be in a new decade!  We will have entered a new year as well as the year 2020!  Who would have ever thought that we would have arrived to such a monumental time in earth’s history?

As we look into the world today Donald Trump has just been impeached and our nation is in much perplexity and dismay.  Confusion, tension and disarray seem to be everywhere.  Peace appears to be unattainable.   Yet, Jesus promised us that:

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33.

You see Jesus has already overcome this world and He asks us to be of good cheer despite what is happening around us and in our lives.  So how can we face tomorrow with cheer?

First, we must keep our minds riveted on the fact  the Jesus has already overcome this world.  This should bring us hope.  The God that we serve has already overcome this world and this world has nothing over him.    This is the God that we serve and He wants us to know that He is sovereign and rules over the affairs of our lives. We just need to turn to him moment by moment.  He has overcome and in Him we too have overcome this world!

Secondly, we must seek His guidance every step of the way.   As we face 2020 we must make a commitment to be guided by Him daily.   His guidance must be first, foremost in our lives and above that of this world.  Remember, this world does not have much to offer us.  Yeshua said these words:

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come,
He will guide you into all truth;”  John 16:13

So, we must ask for the Spirit to dwell in us and we must seek Him to tell us what to do and then, we must follow (by His strength) to do what He asks of us!

Thirdly, we need to ask Our Heavenly Father to give us joy.  Yes, He has promised us joy and will place it in our hearts in the midst of sorrow.  These were the words He has left us to hold onto:

Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
John 16:24 and  “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” John 15:11

Joy in the heart will keep us lifted up!

As He gives us a joy that is full, consistent and that remains; never to go away, then… life, it’s changes, demands as well as His calling will be entered in with a peace that passes all understanding.

My friend 2020 is almost here.  Today let me encourage you to seek the LORD like never before! Plead with Him for an over-comers heart.  Plead with Him for a heart that can be filled with confidence in Him.  Petition Him for a heart that will be brightened by His love, guided by His truth and filled with His joy!   This will result in a life that will speak to the world of a peace that only comes form above!  That heart then can lovingly lead others to Him!

We will be praying for you my friend!  May God bless your 2020.
