Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
What a wonderful thought and promise to have in the times in which we are living! As of yesterday the COVID virus is on the rise and violence is now being extended to national pastimes in sport arenas. It doesn’t seem to safe in most places anymore. Yet, as Christians we are not be have a spirit of fear. Fear will only paralyze us and keep us from doing the will of God and living as a testimony of God’s power to the world. The question is how can we keep calm and have peace in a world that seems to be so out of control.
Remember Who is With You
The first thing is we must remember who is with us! God has promised to never leave us nor forsake us. I love the promise as stated in the book of Deuteronomy 31:8: “And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.” God is the one that is going before us.
Each day as I go out the door it is a comfort to know that God is in front of me. He is also desiring to lead the way if I would just pause to listen to Him. God is a loving God who protects His Children. The Psalmist says: “But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.” God is our shield. As my shield I can boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” Really, ultimately, what can man do to me? As compared to eternal life with Jesus… nothing! So each day let us remember that God is with us! He has promised us that as He journeys along with us that we are not to be afraid nor dismayed for He is our God.
Remember What He Has Promised to Do! Think about this for a moment. Who or what is greater than the God of heaven? Who can outlast or out do Yahweh? The answer is no one and nothing can. So, everything pales in comparison to Him and nothing can even compare to Him. Listen to the words of the prophet Isaiah:
I am the Lord, and there is no other;
There is no God besides Me.
I will gird you, though you have not known Me,
6 That they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting
That there is none besides Me.
I am the Lord, and there is no other;
7 I form the light and create darkness,
I make peace and create calamity;
I, the Lord, do all these things.’ Isaiah 45:5-7 NKJV
God has promised to give us what we need each day. He has promised to help us and strengthen us when confronted with any problem, concern and even loss in this world. Oh, we may have trails and even encounter tragedy as that is all part of living in this sinful world. However, as the Apostle Paul said:
We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not indespair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a farmore exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:8,9 & 16-19 NKJV
Let us remember that God is working things out for our eternal good not matter what happens! He is with us and will lead us triumphantly to the eternal gates of heavenly glory! So, do not fear and live the life that God desires you to live with hope and in the power of His might! God bless your week!
